May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Mental Health Awareness Month is an annual reminder that mental health is as important as physical health, and that seeking support is a sign of strength.

Every day in Chester County, someone is struggling in silence—a young person overwhelmed by pressure, a veteran carrying unseen burdens, a parent unsure where to turn, or a neighbor quietly losing hope. In those moments, access to the right support can mean the difference between despair and a path forward.

Together, we can ensure no one faces mental health challenges or suicidal thoughts alone. Join us in building a community where everyone who needs help is met with support, understanding, and hope.

Who We Are

Chester County Suicide Precention Partnership is a 501(c)3 nonprofit working to decrease suicide in Chester County, Pennsylvania. Founded as the Chester County Suicide Prevention Task Force, we have evolved into a cohesive organization serving the area through evidence-based programs and collaborative community action.

Our Mission: Decrease suicide through increased awareness and education in the community. CCSPP collaborates with our partners to develop suicide prevention strategies and works to reduce the risk, stigma, and occurrence of suicide.

What We Do

Training:

We provide evidence-based suicide prevention education including Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR), Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM), and specialized programs for different audiences. Our trainings equip community members and professionals alike with the skills to recognize warning signs and connect people to help.

Community Partnership:

Quarterly partnership meetings bring together organizations, schools, healthcare providers, and passionate individuals to coordinate prevention efforts across Chester County. These collaborations ensure our community has a unified, comprehensive approach to suicide prevention.

Support:

Monthly grief support groups for suicide loss survivors provide a safe space for healing and connection. Facilitated by trained volunteers with lived experience, these groups offer understanding and resources for those navigating the complex grief of losing someone to suicide.

Connection to Resources:

We ensure people in the community know about important crisis lines and mental health resources so everyone gets the support they need.
