The Wildflower Alliance supports healing and empowerment for our broader communities and people who have been impacted by psychiatric diagnosis, trauma, extreme states, homelessness, problems with substances and other life-interrupting challenges.

The Communities That Care (CTC) model, based on research from the University of Washington, helps communities promote healthy youth development and reduce problem behaviors. Using prevention science, CTC guides communities in identifying local needs, setting priorities, and implementing effective strategies.

Every CTC nationwide gathers data from teens in schools about substance use, violence, and mental health. The PA Youth Survey (PAYS) is used by all CTCs in Pennsylvania. In West Chester, thanks to the long-standing partnership between WCCTC and WCASD, there’s over 20 years of local data available to inform decisions and priorities.

Suicide is a serious public health problem that affects communities everywhere. In 2022, more than 49,000 American adults died from suicide—including 6,407 U.S. Veterans. While suicide can affect all Americans, it has a disproportionate impact on the Veteran community.

Suicide prevention is a complex problem, with a multitude of risk and protective factors that affect every individual differently—and the unique nature of the Veteran experience can often make Veterans particularly vulnerable. Suicide has no single cause, and no single strategy can end Veteran suicide. To be effective, prevention solutions must be adaptable to the unique challenges faced by each Veteran.
