Sara Linderman
I lost my brother, Anthony in 2016 and he was 36 years old at the time. It was the most profound loss that I had experienced. A lot of times I felt like people didn’t know how to just ” be” around me anymore. It was key to find a safe space to talk to people who are walking with this same level of grief. After a few years of consistently going to a survivor of suicide loss groups, I found the comfort in making new friends, talking about suicide, honoring Anthiony and the trauma that came with his death. Now that 10 years have passed, I am reaching a point in my journey that feels like it’s time to give back to new loss survivors and try to grieve and “be” with them. That is why I became a facilitator for these Survivors of Suicide Loss Groups in my area, and my only goal is help someone leave a little more connected, lighter, and not feelings they have to carry it all alone.
